On a beautiful summer’s evening the band used their normal rehearsal night to play for the trustees of the main Corps charities who had held a conference that day in the Royal Marines Museum. It was a perfect way to conclude their day’s hard work and for Royal Marines Association Concert Band it was an excellent opportunity to play for the Corps’ decision makers, many of whom were hearing the band for the first time. The band’s finale piece was that magnificent composition ‘Hootenanny’, a really brilliant number to end a perfect day.
Many thanks to all who took part especially Mark Upton from HMS Collingwood band who was deputising for Jon Yates; and David Cole who had had to battle through hot traffic to get to Eastney in time.
