A Band for every occasion
The Royal Marines Band Service has built a world class reputation via their thrilling performances worldwide for over a century.
Many of its musicians, on leaving the service, go on to successful music careers, but their links with the Royal Marines seldom diminish. In response to public demand, the Band was formed in June 2006 under the chairmanship of Major Paddy Dunn RM (son of Lt Col Sir F Vivian Dunn KCVO OBE FRSA RM former Principal Director of Music Royal Marines),
and commenced rehearsals at Whale Island in Portsmouth with 35 musicians.

Today the Band’s home is in purpose-built rehearsal rooms at HMS Collingwood in Fareham. Its membership is now around 50 players, which includes ex-members of other service bands and an increasing number of talented civilian musicians.
Rehearsals are held every Thursday evening and the Band gives at least two public concerts each month at sell-out venues such as The Octagon Theatre Yeovil and Assembly Hall Worthing, where, in 2016, the Band performed with the world-renowned trumpet great James Morrison.
The Royal Marines Association Concert Band raises funds and awareness for The Royal Marines Charity, which offers lifelong support to the Royal Marines family.
